Color Outside the Lines

Color Outside the Lines

Hello and welcome! I recently attended my first FSJ Convention and let me tell you; it surpassed any convention experience I’ve had and completely blew me away. This company is truly about people and relationships. They treated us like Hollywood stars at the Oscars. No expense was spared to make sure we were comfortable, fed, and entertained every day. I believe we got our registration fee back in food alone!

Along with the food and fun we had the opportunity to take classes on various aspects of our business. And we had a make n’ take session. These sessions were a hands on class showing us new products and techniques.

For this card we diluted some of our liquid colors with a bit of water, and applied each color in overlapping circles with sponge daubers. After letting the color dry, we stamped the large background stamp, Flower Tangle, onto the colored layer, and then flicked with some black licorice and sparkle silks for added pops of color. Is that cool or what?

Flower Tangle can also be colored in using pencils or other coloring mediums. Me, I’m don’t have the patience for that much coloring. It’s more Zen for me to whip it together like this.

The sentiment is from the new stamp set called Color Pop. It was given a bit of pizzazz with this cute button.

I love how these little accents can really add a visual statement and so much charm to an otherwise meh element.

I’ll be showcasing other projects from Convention in the coming days so be sure to stop back. Also, in case you haven’t heard, our new Annual Catalog went live on July 1 and is now available. If you’d like to view it online, click here. Want your own copy? No problem! If you’ve spent $150.00 with me this year, I will mail one to you. Else, just send me $7.00 via PayPal to [email protected] to cover postage and I will get one to you. Unfortunately, this is for US residents only at this time.

Make it a great day!

Make It Monday with Storybook Occasions

Make It Monday with Storybook Occasions

Hello and welcome back!

I’m going to try some theme days to keep my blogging more regular. Make It Mondays will be when I recreate a card; perhaps from one of the current catalogs, or the Fun Stampers Journey blog, or maybe even from one of the sources that are given to Journey Coaches for class ideas and inspiration.

Today’s card is from the latter category. Each month coaches are shown 4 cards that they can use for anything. Supplies, dimensions, and detailed instructions are included for each card. How cool is that? As a company, FSJ does a superior job in providing tools, training, and support to all of their coaches. We are all better together.

Isn’t it darling? This card features the Storybook Occasions stamp set in our current mini catalog. I love the bright springy colors and the ease with which this card came together. The other images in this stamp set are equally sweet, and the greetings cover many different occasions. Check it out at www.funstampersjourney.com/chelliebeaudot.

Thanks for stopping by today! See you again soon.

Go Wild!

Go Wild!

Hello and welcome back!

Today’s projects are the cards in this month’s Fun Stampers Journey Bloom Box. I love, love, love Bloom Box! It is a subscription service; one month at a time or every month until you say stop. Each box contains a full size red rubber stamp set and four fully kitted cards. ‘Fully kitted’ means you get all the card stock, printed paper and embellishments to make each card, following the booklet included in each box.

You always get to see the Bloom Box in advance, so if it’s not your cup of tea, you simply pause your subscription or skip that month. I have not loved every stamp set that I’ve gotten, but I have loved learning new stamping techniques and playing with new colors and embellishments, so the kits have always been fun for me.

The cards:

Easy stamping, some detail cutting, and a quick flick of gold silk.

Creative use of vellum to soften the background and let the images in the foreground and sentiment draw the eye.

White pigment ink against dark card stock is always dramatic. Love it to offset the fun badge element.

This one may be my favorite. I love the whimsical color combination, using stamping-off to lighten the color, and creating a campground-esque sign for the sentiment. Fun!

So there is March’s Bloom Box. It is available to order through the month, as long as the supply lasts.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing part of your day with me!

March Comes in Like a Lion…

March Comes in Like a Lion…

…or so I’ve always been told.

Hello and welcome back!

So what is it about March that folks say makes it come in like a lion and go out like a lamb? The weather? Yeah, not so much here in Wisconsin. Snow, wintry mix, and freezing rain are pretty much the norm throughout the month and sometimes well into April.

But how about the March promotions going on over at Fun Stampers Journey? You’ve got the opportunity to take advantage of some great deals and I’m not lion! *groan*

Okay, okay, onto the fun:

The theme is “over the rainbow” and the featured products all have to do with colors, stars, hearts, clovers. Kinda sounds like a bowl of Lucky Charms cereal, doesn’t it?

Click here for the list of SKU numbers and prices.

An order of just $200.00 will get you this adorable bag:

So what are you waiting for? Head over to my online store and stock up on your favorites. Find me at funstampersjourney.com/chelliebeaudot. Want to get some friends together and see what the fun is all about? Shoot me an e-mail: [email protected]. I’d love to party with you!

Thanks for stopping by!

FSJ Live for Spring into Summer

FSJ Live for Spring into Summer

Hello and welcome back.

I had the most awesome and incredible Saturday doing a virtual stamp camp with Fun Stampers Journey. It was a live streaming event filled with paper crafting tips, techniques, and lots of new product reveals for the upcoming trends mini catalog, Spring into Summer. The catalog will debut on April 1 and believe me, you are going to want to get your hands on these stamp sets and accessories!

Let me back up a bit and say that coaches and customers alike registered for this event and were sent a box with stamps, dies, embellishments and four fully kitted cards that we assembled with some guidance from a pre-recorded video. This was such an excellent idea as it gave stampers a chance to pause the video if they needed more time to complete some of the steps in the creation of their cards.

Today I will share the cards we made just to give you a taste of what is coming in April!

This first card has so many elements to it and took quite a long time to create. We learned a technique with liquid colors smooshed between acrylic blocks to create the watercolor background. There was also some coloring with pencils and a lot of detail cutting to this one. Putzy, but worth the effort.

The next card was infinitely easier. It was just die cutting the word hello numerous times, stacking up the layers, gluing them together, and covering with some journey glaze for a wow factor. The background was more blending of liquid colors for kind of an ethereal, dreamy look.

The third card just tickles me with its nod to pickling and canning. We worked a bit of masking to get the little tomatoes to appear that they are all contained in the jar.

And finally, an oldie but goodie: the shaving cream technique. I love how the blend of blues sets off the basic black and white elements on this card.

So what do you think? Gorgeous cards, huh? They will absolutely be making their way into my April classes. Contact me today to have some fun with paper and ink!
