Rockin’ Birthday Cards
Hello, friends! Today’s cards were created with love for my baby sister and my sister from another mister. Ladies, if you’re reading my blog, I’m casting the Jedi mind trick on you. “These are not the cards you’re looking for. You will be surprised on your birthdays.” I digress.
Onto the creations. Both cards were made with an older Taylored Expressions card kit. The kit is no longer available, but most of the product used here is still part of TE’s current catalog.
Card 1:
I smooshed Lollipop and Cookie Monster liquid watercolors onto a panel of watercolor card stock. When the panel was dry, I stamped over it with the music note background stamp and heat embossed it with rose gold embossing powder. I heat embossed the ‘Happy Bday’ in black sparkle embossing powder and then framed it out with little sub sentiments that were cut into strips. Cool, huh?
Card 2:
These cassettes are from the Mix Tape die set. Fiddly things, but oh, so much fun to create with! Do you remember cassette tapes? Did yours have colors like these or were they just black and white? Did you ever make a mixed tape for someone to show how much you cared about them? Ahhhh, those were the days. I digress.
The sentiments were taken straight from the kit and the color combination was inspired by other elements also in the kit.
These cards are sending me right back to the 80s and 90s. I’m smiling at the memories and I hope you are, too.
Thanks for spending time with me today. I’ll see you again soon!
